Random Thoughts
Wow it’s been awhile since I’ve written anything on this site. Some quick bullet points on the last two weeks:
- If you’re looking to go out dancing on a Monday night, might I recommend going out to Nacional in Hollywood. Monday Night Social is the event there that evening. The venue is a large rectangular-boxed building with hanging Japanese-lantern-like lamps. The amber lighting gives the whole place a very chic and stylish ambience. Very LA. Normally I go out to a hip hop function, but Monday Night Social is all about techno and trance audio. Let the rhythm and the controlled tempo from the guest DJ sway your dancing movements.
- Today I hit up Griddle Cafe in West Hollywood. Imagine your brunch… on steroids! That is exactly what this highly recommended breakfast joint achieves. I ordered the Peanut Bubba: two large pieces of french toast covered in bits of chocolate and peanut butter crunch crumbs along with some whip cream. Cut a small piece off and pour a little maple syrup on it. I almost died eating this damn thing…. so good!
- I work in Malibu. Benefits: warming up your food and driving out to the beach. I get to enjoy stare out at the Big Blue while scarfing down a sandwich.
- Who was it that decided to use the word ‘scarf’ as a verb describing the action of eating?
- The past few months have been rich in meeting new people. Not only am I meeting new people, but I have been meeting some quality friends. Life is more exciting when you develop continuously new and exciting friendships.
- Happy birthday to my best bud Steve, and another b-day message to my friend Natalie.
- Speaking of Natalie, she held her birthday last night at Hollywood Billiards. Mel and I have been addicted to playing pool. Evidence: spent the last 3 weekends there for at least one of our nights. I think I am getting better at the damn game.
- Dunno if anyone still plays poker nowadays but I’ve been selling poker supplies through one of my websites: www.thepokerstash.com. Surprisingly there is still good money to be made in poker.
